Yesterday, 7News told you about 19 year-old Hugh Thomas and the 17 year-old minor who were charged for burglary. According to the GSU, they were caught in the act of trying to hide items they had just stolen from an early-morning home invasion on Dean Street. Well today, they were brought back before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer for additional charges.

As we reported, the GSU responded to a burglary in progress at #8 Dean Street. While inquiring with the house owner, they were informed that two men dressed in dark clothing and wearing caps had burglarized her house the night before around midnight stealing her keys and some items.

The same robbers returned at 4:00 am on Monday with firearms. A homeowner's 12 year old daughter was held up at gunpoint while the robbery was taking place.

Her mother reported that while in the garage she heard noise's inside the house and upon checking she saw the robbers stealing her TV, fan, 2 bicycles and 2 cell phones from inside her house.

The GSU made their patrols and caught Thomas and the 17 year-old minor with the stolen items, and as a result, they were additionally charged with aggravated burglary.

They pleaded not guilty but because the offense was committed with a firearm, no bail could be granted, and they were both remanded to prison until August 1.

Immediately after that, they were taken to separate court room, where they were arraigned along with 19 year-old Monica Ramclam and a 17 year-old female minor for a separate count of handling stolen goods in connection with the 2 stolen cellular phones. They are to return to court on July 5 to answer for this charge.

But that's not where story ended for Thomas, because he was also arraigned this morning for a separate charge of handling stolen goods.

According to police, Marlon Flowers reported that between 9 p.m. on May 17, and 7 a.m. the next day, someone stole his black and green Yamaha brand motorcycle which is valued at $2,000.

Police investigated the report, and according to them, they recovered the gas tank for the stolen motorcycle in Thomas' possession. As a result, police charged him with handling stolen goods.

Today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, he pleaded not guilty to the charge, but it was discovered that he owed court $290. Hugh asked that this fine be converted to jail time and as a result, he was remanded until August 1.

And in a correction to the story we ran yesterday, we reported that the 17 year-old minor, who was allegedly Thomas's accomplice, has been arrested on several occasions for crimes ranging from drug possession to murder.

We must stress that he was only detained pending investigations for those crimes, and these are the minor's first criminal charges...
