Last night on the news - we had an unusual interview with a man who admitted that police caught him with contraband - but says that cops also took five hundred dollars from him. Now, that's one matter - but another is that he showed that the police were straight up lying when they claimed they found 25 cases of Mexican beer in an abandoned house. But, it wasn't an abandoned house, it was his house - and he told us how the police used a movie reference to suggest that he had to hand over some cash with the contraband:..
Voice of - Contraband Owner
"So he told me if I watch Shottas, you know how Shottas go right. Then he asked me about the case. He asked me which one I want to do, take the what or leave the what?"
Jules Vasquez
"You interpreted the reference with Shottas as something where we are going to take the contraband and we will take the money?"
Voice of - Contraband Owner
"Yes, more or less."
Jules Vasquez
"Because that's what happened in Shottas right?"
Voice of - Contraband Owner
"Right, right."

Darrell "Tushie" Usher - Corporal of Police
"The young man was explaining to Mr. Vidal and during the explanation the young man brings up the same thing that he said about the movie Shottas and he tried to explain to Mr. Vidal that they didn't ask him for the money directly but indirectly they used the term from Shottas when they said that when the people went to rob and caught the drugs and told the guy they will take everything and when the guy said to leave the money, the next guy said no we will take everything. So the young boy is trying to explain to him and he is telling the young boy, You give them in their hand?' he responded no, 'you give them in their pocket?' he said no. So the young man says he took the $500 and put it between the beer. He insisted about the young boy, so I ask the young boy, any of them were close when you put the money there?' when I said that Mr. Vidal said, shut up, shut up, get out of the office.' So I said how will you tell me to get out of the office when it is me who brought the young man? I called you about a complaint and I bring the young man. He said get out, get out, by this time the three police knock and the next two came to surround me, you don't hear get out, get out?' So they surround me, like they are trying to put me out. So I tell them, If any of you touch me then we'll see what happens,' because at the end of the day they are being chancy [unfair]. If right here you are trying to intimidate me imagine what will happen when I leave the young boy. So I told them, best thing we go one time,' so Mr. Vidal jumped up hot like at me. So from then, I stepped out. Just because I said one thing in the meeting, he put me out, come out, come out, come out.' So, I tell him, come out for what?' Then the three of them surround me like goons like they want to crowd you to put you out. So I tell them, well do what you have to do because you won't touch me.' From then he jumped off his seat like they will forcibly put me out. Now you will put me out of the office when I bring this young man? I text you about a complaint against your personnel, you told me to bring the young man and then because I ask something to clarify something to you, you will go on hostile to me?"
Corporal Usher - who is under interdiction - also criticized Senior Superintendent Vidal for sending the same Special Assignment Team - to check on the persons who was making a complaint against them:
Darrell "Tushie" Usher
"From the beginning why I called internal affairs, from the beginning when the young man first told me about it and I notified Mr. Vidal, normally when a report is made against a police they send them to internal affairs. But how will you send the same police that you are making the allegations about back to the person's house, you understand? So to me, it is like you are trying to intimidate the person. Then they broke the person's door. They are unfair how they deal with people. You understand? And as I say, I expected that. When I notified Mr. Vidal about it he said he wanted to see the young man to talk to the young man. But with the aggression with what they went to the person's house, literally pop open the door, you understand? You want to see the man, how will it be that you want to see the man?"
Vidal has said, two things. First, that the accused gave the Professional Standards Branch an entirely different account which did not at all include an allegation that any officer of the SAT extorted money from him. As for Usher's harsh words about the behavior of a senior officer, Vidal says, quote, "Disrespect is not to be our trademark and I certainly don't tolerate, he was asked to leave after the man had already given his account." End quote.
As for the five hundred dollars? The accuser was advised to go to customs and look for it - since he says he stuffed it within the case of beers.
