He's the secretary general of the UDP, but, reports say, that Alberto August will be charged in Cayo for "spreading false news". We are told it is in relation to a post he made in November, about a person who had allegedly been a victim of police brutality - but was actually in an accident.
August made a Facebook post about the pending charge today, seeming to address Commissioner Chester Williams. It points out that police have let other cases of Facebook circulated false news from the media, quote "slide," but, quote, "Now you are forcing "your" police, against their will, to arrest Alberto August." End quote.
From there, August goes on to make a less than veiled threat to the senior cop, saying, quote
"Let it be known Sir that you have too many skeletons in your closet to be venturing down this slippery victimizing slope solely for the purpose of showcasing yourself in the eyes of your political bosses as you seek their favors to keep your job." End quote.
August will go to the San Ignacio police station for his charge on Friday.
