And while the attack on Private Haven was seemingly spurred on by cash and a boat engine, robbers in Toledo were looking for weapons.
It happened on Wednesday in Yemeri Grove which is about 7 miles outside Punta Gorda Town. The head on national crimes investigation told us more:
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head - National Crimes Investigation
"On the said date he had departed his home enroute to Punta Gorda Town to conduct businesses leaving his caretaker behind guarding his home. Upon his arrival somtime around 12:30pm upon approaching his home in his vehicle he was met and accosted by 3 dark complexion male persons who were armed and as well as wearing masks. As a result himself and his worker were bounded where they were ask for and demanded as well for monies where the home was ransacked. His licensed shotgun which was inside his vehicle was taken by those persons. After they had left the area he managed to free himself where he made his way to the chairman of the village who then called the police who came in to conduct an investigation into the matter where the scene was processed. We are following several leads in respect to this investigation, but so far no one has yet been detained."
