And while the PM is harping on prevention of such incidents, three villagers from Camalote are still outraged that it happened at all.

All three, 19 year old Landy Gerilee Thomas, 26-year-old Wayne Andrew Zelaya, along with a 16-year old minor were arrested today after they set a bonfire between miles 49 and 50 on the George Price Highway last night.

It happened at about 8:25 when the cops received information of seven vehicle tires engulfed in flames.

And today in a post on WhatsApp status Comissioner of Police Chester Williams addressed the incident saying quote: "To protest without a permit is illegal; but we understand the reason for the protests we compromised by allowing it to happen, so long as it is peaceful and compliant with Covid 19 protocols. However, to burn tires on the Highway is criminal and will be treated as such." End quote.
