Tonight, a 16 year old is dead, and his 32 year old brother - a boxer - is being investigated for possibly causing the death.

Police say it could have been a punch he threw to his brother's face.

But that incident took place on December 8th when the brothers - teenaged Keenan Young and his adult brother Alex Neal - fought in front of their father's yard over the use of an old spade.

Since then 16-year-old Keenan had complained of headaches even ending up in the hospital for a Cat Scan. And then in the final two days of his life he complained of stomach swelling and a loss of feeling in his lower extremities. Keenan Young would die shortly after checking into Medical Associates on Christmas Eve.

Ian Young is the father of both Young and Neal. This evening he told Cherisse Halsall that he won't get in the way of charges being brought because Neal, a professional boxer, who has struck people before, may quote: " have really overdone it this time."

Ian Young, Father of the deceased

"I went to work and at work about 9:30, the boy called and said Dad, Alex punched me down for the spade. I have a spade that is cracked and he lives in my yard and he knows that I don't lend out my tools. I think he told Alex, daddy said don't take the spade and don't use it because it will break. I don't know what happened after that, because he came in the dump truck at the front of my yard to use the spade to dig out core from out the truck."

"I don't know why he punched my son, or what my son did to him to make the fight happen. The older one is my outside son, the younger one is my son who lives with me, he is 16 and the other one is 32 and he is a professional boxer, so I don't know if the blow that he gave my son that affected him. I don't know if he meant it, I have rules and regulation at my yard and I always tell him that I don't lend out anything, so he knows. And if your brother tells you the spade broke, I think you should have understood that you should not use it, but he is demanding."

"I don't know if my little son touched him to try and take back the spade. I don't know what happened after that."

"You kind of alluded to this, but being that he is a boxer, you would think he knows where to hit somebody and where not to him."

Ian Young, Father of the deceased
"He fights professional for Belize, so he knows. I don't think he meant to do it, and he knows that he should not fight out here, because his hands are his tools, so I think he knows not to use it. He had punched a few people that I know and they don't really do him anything. I don't know if he can get charge, I don't know. But if he is to get charge, I am not stopping it. I think he over did it."

Reporter
"You won't stop it, but would you press charges?"

Ian Young, Father of the deceased
"I haven't been to court yet to know what to do with that. I haven't taken anyone to court yet, so I don't know the court rules and I think I would want justice for my son, but I don't know."

"The other person is also your son."

Ian Young, Father of the deceased
"What I am saying, if he does wrong and he get charge for it, I wouldn't deny it. because you should have good sense to know that is a little boy and you are wrong to come at that little boy door pad. It's like somebody comes at your house and you have to defend yourself - you won't let anyone come and run over you, that is my point. If you can't defend yourself at your spot, its better you don't own it."
