On the night of March 5th, Chyrol Morgan and her cousin were on their way to work from their home in Maskall. Both women work at the Fire Department; Chyrol is a fire-woman in Ladyville, her cousin works the radios at the Fore Department int he City.

Working women and mothers about to go on the shift from 8:00 in the night to 8:00 in the morning - but they were knocked down by an unknown vehicle near Boston Village.

Two weeks later - the worlds of two families have been turned upside down. We spoke to the sister of one of the injured women today:

On the night of Saturday March 5th, cousins Chyrol Morgan and Raven Bennett were on Chryol's motorcycle heading to work.

Chyrol is a firewoman - and Raven works at the Fire Department as a radio attendant.

But they were knocked off the motorbike - in a hit and run and left for dead.

Ebony Arnold, Sister of Accident Victim
"Whosoever hit them knew them and they know the person because at that hour nobody that is not from that Maskall Road would be travelling on that speed on that Maskall Road, it's too risky, people don't do that. So, for them to be on that road that hours, they knew them. They didn't care, they didn't render any aid. That was cold, that was terrible, inhumane of a person. Its wrong."

They survived, but their lives will never be the same again:

Ebony Arnold, Sister of Accident Victim
"Raven Bennet my cousin, she lost her leg - almost instantly. It couldn't be saved and my sister Sharol she has a huge laceration, like going diagonal from her thigh to past her knee on the left foot as well and it's terrible, because right now she is still in the hospital getting treatment and her foot in under observation, because it's a possible skin grafting for her, because they had to remove some dead skin, so she is still there, but Raven, she got discharged last Friday. She lost her whole foot, its really bad. It really hurts us."

Raven are both young mothers - Raven has two sons and Chyrol has three including a 9 month old.

Ebony Arnold, Sister of Accident Victim
"And it's unfair because my sister has a 9-month year old baby that breastfeeds and he hasn't seen his mom from since she left for work last 2 weeks ago March 5. The baby misses her a lot and Raven she is at home now, but she was born with 2 legs, it wasn't supposed to be like that, somebody come and take away your leg and you have to order one from the US. That doesn't go that way."

The driver has not been found - and the family wants justice or at least answers:

Ebony Arnold, Sister of Accident Victim
"How, how, was person could do that? What hurts me the most is because one was on the right side and one was on the left side of the street - you had to have seen that action. I don't know if he believes or whatever that he thinks they die, but they didn't. So, that's really wrong. I don't even know what else to say, I am angry."

The family is asking for the public's support in helping them with their medical bills by supporting a fundraiser on March 26th. You can call 630-7671 for more information.
