Today, another body was found in a deserted road near mile 8 on the George Price Highway. IT wasn't on the John Smith Road - as had been initially reported but near to Westlake Park.
The Commissioner told us what police know so far:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"This morning police officers were called to a feeder road off the George Price Highway just after the Eight Miles Community and there they discovered the remains of a male person. The body exhibit what appeared to be a single gunshot to the head. We have identified the person as one of those persons who was reported missing. I'm not sure if the next of kin has been notified, so I'm not going to say the name now, but I'll have the press office release that name to you as soon as we are sure that the next of kin has been notified. Certainly, the body is in a state of decomposition and I guess we'll have to await the pathologist to tell us more or less a time of death."
We note that 21 year old Freddy Chicas from West Lake Community, was reported missing on Thursday, March 9, 2023, and was last seen on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at about 8:00 a.m.
