On Monday, we told you that the police were on a hunt for two high powered firearms that were burglarized from a house in Los Lagos over the weekend. The suspects also stole a safe with tens of thousands of dollars worth of items.
When police got the call of the burglary, they responded quickly, and discovered a man and two minors attempting to flee the scene. The cop searched them and the surrounding area and found a knapsack inside a plastic drum on the verandah. Inside the bag, the officers discovered 532 grams of cannabis.
Since then, police have charged those three persons, 20-year-old Lyndon Chun and two minors - one 16 and one 12 years old - along with another man, 46-year-old Kirk Dougal, for the crime of burglary. Chun and the minors were additionally charged for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
Today they appeared in court in front of Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson where they all pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor did not object to bail, and it was offered to the adults in the sum of $5,000 plus two sureties of $2,500. Meanwhile, the minors were handed over to the care of their mothers with a bail of $2,000.
For the minors, the conditions of their bail are that they must remain living with their parents and they must report to the Community Rehabilitation Department. They must also not associate with any known gang members and they have a curfew of 8 in the night to 6 in the morning. The adults also have stringent bail conditions to abide by.
