Tonight, some big and deadly weapons have been taken off the streets in San Pedro town. A joint operation turned up two illegal firearms in two separate locations. In the San Mateo area police searched the residence of 24 year old Jaylil Usher. The cops found an AK-47 assault rifle with a magazine tucked inside a pillowcase. Usher was charged with keeping a prohibited firearm and possession of a firearm with a serial number removed. He today got sentenced to 3 yrs for the prohibited firearm and was fined $5,000 dollars for removal of the serial number. If he doesn't pay the find by January, he will spend an additional year in jail.
And last night, San Pedro Police continued searches in the San Mateo area where they found a Taurus 9mm pistol with an empty magazine stowed under an old washing machine. No one was in the area at the time and the firearm was sealed, labeled and deposited as found property.
