In crime news, a robber tried to target a woman and her daughter in Belmopan, only to be shot by her. According to police, the firearm that the woman used was licensed, and the robber is in the hospital pending charges.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"A lady was walking on the sidewalk in Belmopan when she and her daughter were accosted by a male person who demanded that they hand over their properties. The lady took out her licensed firearm and ordered the person to stop and he made a move towards her and she fired one single shot at him with her licensed firearm, causing injuries to his stomach region. He was taken to the Belmopan hospital, or the Western Regional Hospital, where he received treatment and is currently admitted in a stable condition under police guard and it is our hope that once he's released from the hospital that he'll be charged for the crime of attempted robbery."
