Early this morning, a man was killed in Belmopan, right in front of his brother. 36-year-old Solomon Coleman was socializing with his brother and sister in law near Royal Bar when, around 1:00, he asked to go buy more beers. His brother didn't want to give him the money, since he believed Coleman was on drugs, so they both left to buy the beer. Coleman then ran ahead, and when he got to the corner of the lane, a man on a bicycle wearing a mask and armed with a shotgun approached them. He fired a single shot, killing Coleman on the spot. The gunman then fled the scene. The police have yet to ascertain the motive, and reports are that Coleman did not live in Belmopan. He is said to originally be from Punta Gorda. Today his family declined to comment.
