He was acquitted of murder 2 years ago but today Emmerson Garnett was back before the court accused of stabbing 28-year-old, Mervin Martin on Pitter Street on New Years day.

At his arraignment, Garnett pleaded guilty initially to wounding and use of deadly means of harm and begged the court for leniency in the form of a fine. But when the chief magistrate told him he was not going to get a fine but jail time, he changed his guilty plea to not guilty and tonight he is out on bail of $1,500 with his case adjourned until March 5th.

Garnett is being accused of stabbing 28-year-old, Mervin Martin three times to the body on New Years Day on Pitter Street. Martin told police that Garnett's common law got into an argument with him and Garnett intervened by stabbing him three times. After the stabbing incident, Garnett later handed himself in to the police.
