And while there was no delay in flights, the commissioner has given pause on one detail - that is which civilian fired the shot that killed Taylor? It happened after the plane landed so some have asked, was it justified?

Today on Sunup, the compol said that Fitzgerald Brown, the licensed weapon holder, was well within his right to utilize his weapon.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"Obviously there is an issue of self defence not just in respect to the shooter himself but also those who were onboard that flight. Section 38 of the criminal code clearly outlines the justifiable reason of force and harm and it says that lethal force can be used in defence of yourself and other persons against grievous harm and it lists a number of other offences there. Certainly a man onboard a flight wielding a knife who has inflicted stab wounds to many people including the shooter he would have been in his right justifiably so to have used lethal force against that individual. And so while we are not going to be the arbitral of that, we will prepare the file and send to the DPP, and I'm sure that is going to be the outcome."
