We also asked the Compol about the status of one of his officers after a video emerged of him being beaten in the street by another cop.
It happened over the weekend outside a club in Dangriga.
Rosado gave his version of what occurred.
Jomarie Lanza:
"We recently saw a video where Corporal Candice Mortis was being lashed by Sergeant Salam in the street. What is the story behind this?"
Dr. Richard Rosado:
"Well, I was made to understand there was some altercation at the establishment, and to-from what I view, I do believe that the police did use excessive force, hence the reason he was arrested and charged."
Sergeant Salam has been charged but there are other videos which show that the Corporal named Mortis - who was in plainclothes - may have initiated the hostilities with Salam when he didn't seem to want to pay to enter a local club.
