In other crime news, the Atlantic Bank Ladyville Branch was targeted by biurglars last week, but they did not get into the bank. ASP Smith said that there was damage to the ATM:

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"On Thursday 23rd July, investigators were called out to the Atlantic Bank Ladyville branch as there was indication that a burglary occurred. A review, however, of the building showed that nothing of significance was taken, and the Scenes of Crime technicians were able to process the scene and leave a number of prints and the hope is that we would be able to ascertain exactly what occurred."

Reporter:
"Was there any damaged property?"

ASP Stacy Smith:
"Yes, yes, the building was damaged, um, resulted in them gaining entry, but certainly I won't disclose how they did that."

Jaleeza Roberts:
"Would you at least be able to say, was it the ATM they were going for?"

ASP Stacy Smith:
"I believe, um, the ATM was damaged, but I believe entry was made in the building, so the ATM damage was, I believe, from inside the building."

This is the second recent report of an attempted ATM theft.
