She is the youngest Belizean delegate to represent Belize in a universe pageant and eight year old Azizi Hoy certainly did us proud. Azizi not only returned home with lots of fond memories but a couple of big titles. Out of the four categories the twenty one contestants could win, Azizi captured two: Miss Mini Talent and Miss Universe Princess. Today, a proud Azizi visited 7NEWS' studios to share her experience and yes show off her crown and sashes.

"It was great and a lot of fun because I met different girls from different countries and learnt their cultures."

I understand you were involved in a whole week activities. What all you had to do?
Azizi Hoy,
"I had to do the talent competition, the gala competition and the cocktail competition."
Jacqueline Godwin,
And you must have had fun in the talent competition because you did something that you love right?
Azizi Hoy,
"Yes."

What was that?
Azizi Hoy,
"Ballet."
Jacqueline Godwin,
How long you've been doing ballet?
Azizi Hoy,
"I've been doing it for about 4 years."
Jacqueline Godwin,
Well you managed to bring home two title. What you think you've done for our country?
Azizi Hoy,
"I think I brought them a title and to show them that it is not only the crown that is important but it is the love that we show our country."
The Mini Universe title was won by five year old Alviana Arends, the contestant from Aruba. And on the heels of this showing, she has been invited to take part in a number of other contests. In August of 2008, she will be leaving for South America to participate in the little miss nations in Brazil.
