Today the SIB also hosted a validation session for something called "the 2024 Tool For Assessing Statistical Capacity". It's an instrument used to advance the capabilities of the national statistical system. The session is a collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency. Director General Castillo told us more.

"So Today we are having validation session with members of our national statistical system. This is a follow up to a session from last November where we conducted a self assessment. The SIB and our other producers of statistics of our statistical capacity as a whole system. So we are presenting The results to Them today and these results are going to be used by The SIB to develop training programs for our other producers of statistics and to feed into how we would implement our national strategy for development of statistics over The next five years. So this activity is key for us for planning for the next five years and how we will be working with The system to improve overall as a system and This activity is part of our COEICA funded project The enabling of Belize's statistical system project that has been funded by The government of South Korea."
