Both the Kendall Causeway and the Middlesex Bridge are passable tonight after they were flooded by the heavy rains last night and into this morning.

According to the National Emergency Management Organization, the 9 to 10 feet of water that covered the Kendall Causeway is slowing going down. According to NEMO, the water is now just two feet high over it. So it is passable but more rain is expected and so BDF soldiers and police officers have been deployed there and it is being closely monitored.

And then there is the Middlesex Bridge. Both approaches to the temporary crossing were weakened by flood waters. That too we are told is now accessible. It should have reopened at 5 pm after teams from the Ministry of Works spent the day restoring the approaches which were basically sand and gravel.

The Ministry of Works and NEMO are monitoring the situations at both sites.
