So, while the stoppage is not, per se, indefinite, it kinda is. It's a serious upheaval in the normal procession of a cane crop - and the stoppage is sure to cause revenue losses on all sides. But while it is injurious, Neal says it may be the new normal:

"I think we just have to understand that there's a new normal. Given the challenges of climate change, we cannot continue to proceed with business as normal. Where, you know, come December, we start the crop and we try and go through, regardless of what this situation is, I think the new normal might also include, taking pauses when there's excessive rains."
