And when it comes to development of a new cruise port, the Minister says that the Ministry Of Disaster Risk Management is involved in the assessment of the project especially when it comes to flooding:

"So a part, a component of NEMO is CEMO, which is the Belize City Emergency Organization. And they are certainly intricately involved in that, in those assessments in terms of the project that you spoke about. NEMO does play a role as well, but it's primarily through CEMO. But definitely any project that happens on the coastline, we have to look at the flooding aspects of it and how that would affect the residents in that area."
