KHMH Fires Its Neurosurgeons

It was big news last month when the KHMH got $100,000 in equipment to activate a neurology department at the KHMH. Well, it was good while it lasted, but 7NEWS has confirmed that the plan has fallen apart. Earlier this week both neurologists, Dr. Andre Cervantez and Dr. Giovanni Lara were fired from the hospital. They had differences with the CEO over revenue sharing, transparency and compensation, and they were fired for "insubordination, non performance and being a negative influence." That's tough talk, but today we were told that all is not lost. Conciliation talks have been underway and the doctors could be back in the now inactive neurology department by next week.
