Finally, there is good news to report tonight about 19 year old Ahmaad Nah. The pellet gun shooting victim from Roaring Creek Village is off the life support machine at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and talking. As we reported on Friday, a CAT Scan showed that the swelling on Nah’s brain was subsiding. He was taken off the ventilator on Saturday and today he ate for the first time since he was accidentally shot 8 days ago with a pellet gun. His Dr. Jorge Hidalgo told us that Ahmaad is showing “fantastic improvement.” His father Theodore is overjoyed.

Theodore Nah, Father of Shooting Victim
“He is off the ventilator and today was his first meal and he also

drank some water. So I see a big improvement.”

Keith Swift,
“Is he able to talk?”

Theodore Nah,
“Yes he is able to talk.”

Keith Swift,
“Have you asked him anything?”

Theodore Nah,
“Well he asked about his brother and his sister but I didn’t go into details concerning the shooting.”

Keith Swift,
“And what has the doctor told you about the future prospect?”

Theodore Nah,
“Well we take it a step at a time. I myself has counted him out but the almighty hasn’t and so I want to say thanks again to the Belizean public and continue praying because more is left to come. I say thanks to the Good Lord and to Belizeans once again.”

Ahmaad Nah faces a long road to recovery. It will also be a costly one. Anyone able to assist can deposit donations into account 9211043 at the Heritage Bank. Ahmaad Nah was accidentally shot in the left side of his head with a pellet gun by a 12 year old girl. That pellet is still lodged in his brain and will eventually have to be removed.
