James Brodie & Company Limited, official importer of the Children's BENADRYL® Allergy FASTMELT® Tablets, has recalled the cherry and grape flavors of the medication that they had on shelves and in storage. This isn't because the medication isn't safe for human consumption, but it is a precautionary voluntary recall measure taken by Johnson & Johnson after it was discovered that the products had insufficiencies in the development of the manufacturing process. Rene Vasquez, Purchasing Manager at Brodies & Company Ltd, told us more

Rene Vasquez
"The product that recall, we imported it twice for this year, it's about 96 pieces and we have recall from some customers that we know we sold to and we got them back already and already ship back to Trinidad. There is a letter from Johnson and Johnson that is saying that there is no recall from the consumer, it's just off the warehouse and off the shelves. There is no adverse effect for the consumers."

Andrea Polanco
"So consumers who have this product right now and they are using it, it's still safe for them to......"

Rene Vasquez

"It's still safe for them."

Andrea Polanco
"So if they should have the product are they free to bring it back here at BRODIES?"

Rene Vasquez
"If they feel not comfortable with it they can bring it back."

The recall is at wholesale and retail level, no action is required by consumers. The Children's Benadryl Allergy FASTMELT Tablets were distributed to the U.S, Belize, Barbados, Puerto Rico, St Martin and St. Thomas.
