14 more Belizeans died this weekend due to COVID-19, and once again, the Ministry of Health is reporting that several of these patients were among the country's elder population.

On Friday, 119 samples were processed, and 38 of them were COVID-positive. There were also 5 COVID deaths: 3 males from Corozal, 2 in their 60's from Concepcion and Corozal Town and 1 in his 70's from San Narciso, 2 from Orange Walk, 1 male in his 50's from Orange Walk Town and 1 female in her 90's from Trial Farm.

On Saturday, 239 samples were processed, and out of that number, 54 persons tested positive for the virus.

5 COVID deaths also occurred on Saturday, and according to the Director of Health Services, 2 of the victims were males, and 3 were females. 3 of them were being treated at the KHMH's COVID-19 unit, and they had been critically ill for several days. The other two were being treated at the Northern Regional Hospital.

254 more samples were processed yesterday, and of that number 73 new COVID-19 patients were identified.

Also, 4 more people died from COVID, and according to the Director, 2 of them were being treated at the KHMH: a female from the Cayo District and a man in his 60s from Corozal. The third patient was a female in her 70s from Xaibe who died at the Corozal Community Hospital, and the final patient was a man in his 60s who died at the Western Regional Hospital.

Compiling all of the figures provided by the Director of Health Services, our count says that there have been 31 COVID-related deaths in the past 9 days from November 13th to yesterday.
