Earlier we told you about the government's plan to seek legal ways to implement mandatory COVID vaccinations. And the names of any frontliners who haven't been vaccinated by August 12th will be submitted to the Ministry of Public Service and Constitutional Reform. That's according to a circular memo sent out from the ministry to government CEO's as well as the office of the GG, the Chief Justice, Auditor General, Solicitor General, FinSec, Cabinet Secretary and heads of departments. The public service ministry reiterates the 11 professions considered as frontline workers and the new SI which mandates that they either get the vaccine or present a negative COVID 19 test every two weeks. And for those who do not provide that test, they will be marked absent from work and will be subjected to disciplinary proceedings.

Total numbers show that as of 9th August 2021, 141,770 or 32 percent of the population had received at least one dose of the vaccine and 56,330 or 13 percent of the population had been fully vaccinated.
