The Belize City Council Will be relocating the Fort George Tourism Zone Gateway currently located at the foot of the downtown Swing Bridge and immediately in front of the Ocean Ferry Water Taxi Terminal on North Front Street. It will be moved down the street closer to the Ministry of Education building. From its construction, questions surrounded the project as it presented a safety risk for pedestrians and obstructed the free flow of traffic often resulting with a bottleneck during rush hours. The structure also appeared to present challenges for the re-construction currently ongoing at the site of the once named Paslow Building. The relocation is expected to alleviate the above mentioned situations and its new location further down the same street and closer to the Tourism Village is expected to more applicably mark the zone.Â
