2 weeks ago, we showed you the first 3 homes which the Briceno Administration handed over to the first new homeowners under the government housing program.

This is the very first part of a manifesto commitment to provide at least 10,000 low-income homes in the next 5 years.

No way they will make that number, but over the Christmas holidays the Ministry of Infrastructure Development handed over 20 new homes.

With video provided by the Government Press Office, here is that moment when the recipients got their very first opportunity to inspect the homes for themselves:

New homeowners pay about $25 dollars a week towards the homes. When we asked about the slow pace of this rollout 2 weeks ago, Housing Minister Julius Espat said that the donations will take place more rapidly and more frequently, now that some important logistics have been worked out.
