The Ministry of Works published the alignment for a sixty-kilometre four-lane corridor on Monday, a project it says will reduce the drive between the two largest districts from three hours to roughly ninety minutes once complete.

Land acquisition begins
Surveyors have begun marking the route, which crosses approximately two hundred parcels of private land. The ministry said compensation assessments would be published parcel by parcel rather than as a single schedule.
Construction is slated to begin early next year in two packages, with the northern section expected to open to traffic first.
