The 4 person Senate Special select committee investigating Social Security went out into the field this week. Their mission is to see what properties are being held as collateral for to secure loans from social security. Their first stop was Intelco where with the assistance of a senior lands inspector, they checked out properties at the junction of the Burrell Boom road and the Northern Highway and two parcels in the Cahal Pech area of San Ignacio. The committee is now requesting a valuation of these properties from the Ministry of Natural Resources to provide a comprehensive valuation. Social Security has secured at least $20 million of Intelco's debt.
