DPP Lutchman Sooknandan Reports to Work

Yesterday he was officially named the successor to Kirk Anderson as the new Director of Public Prosecutions and today attorney Lutchman Sooknandan reported to work.

Sooknandan has ample experience in the office as he's worked as a crown counsel in that office from 1986 and 1991, then as senior crown counsel from 91 to 93 and then as acting Director of Public Prosecutions from 1993 to 1995 - when he was Kirk Anderson's boss.

Sooknandan takes over an office that those in the legal community say is badly in need of direction and still smarting from very public disagreements with the Police Department.
