And in our final bit from today's press conference, Prime Minister Barrow commented on his Guatemalan counterpart Jimmy Morales. Belize's Ambassador to Guatemala Alexis Rosado met president- elect Jimmy Morales - and here's what the PM said about it:...
Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"Ambassador there had a chance to meet with the President Elect Jimmy Morales and his message to me was professional and perhaps even conciliatory, but given how much of a hinge issue Guatemala remains we will constitute a sort of cabinet standing committee of the cabinet to keep a close brief - a watching brief with respect to the Guatemala issue. I was told by Alexis that the President Elect has indicated that rather than having this sort of ceremony at which all heads of state and government in the region and in deed in the hemisphere would be elected, he is thinking to limiting it to just the Central American sub region - the SICA sub region and he's expressed the hope that I will attend. Well, we will see about that."
