He's gone 105 days without an official press conference, and he may make it to 112.

Prime Minister John Briceno won't be having his long awaited press conference this week because he is participating in a two day CARICOM Heads of Government meeting via Zoom.

We are told he now plans to have that press conference next week, presumably after next Wednesday's municipal elections.

That's when his government also plans to start serious budgetary consultations with the labour unions to discuss the possibility of across the board paycuts.

Of course, that leaves very little time to prepare, debate and approve the new budget before the start of the new Fiscal Year on April 1st.

So, best indications are that the budget may be presented at the end of March, debated in early April, and go for senate approval by mid April.

Unusual, but not unprecedented; in 2008 the new Barrow Administration took until summer to present its first budget.
