And we didn't hear the conversation that Diani Chan had with Minister Mai when the San Roman resident went to his home in Orange Walk Town asking for guidance on importation of her flowers.

This is weeks after she attended a meeting at the Forest Department in February where the process was explained.

But it seems that wasn't sufficient and she used a personal channel to go seek ministerial guidance; we asked Mai about it:

Jules Vasquez
"You don't believe you gave Ms. Chan special treatment. We know that there is another importer who stuff was burnt up and confiscated when he had CITES plants."

Hon. Jose Mai - Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise
"I don't know if that is the case that anybody's plant was burnt up."

Jules Vasquez
"It was a prior case but he didn't have prime minister and Jose Mai to call, miss Chan did."

Hon. Jose Mai
"Well maybe he should have called, I don't know. I don't know miss Chan, I met her one time and if I see her walking today I wouldn't recognize her. One time she went to look for the same information at my home at night and I told her go to BAHA and they will give you all the run down. That's the first time I saw her in person, if I see her out there today I wouldn't even recognize her, maybe you know her better than me."

Jules Vasquez
"And did you call BAHA to tell them miss Chan the come, unno help ah out?"

Hon. Jose Mai
"Absolutely not."
