Sunday will see a major political showdown in the Toledo East constituency. Three aspirants are vying for the spot to replace the deceased incumbent Mike Espat.
They include Mike's son, Melhem, Oscar Requena's brother, Nicanoor and John Briceno's former CEO Osmond Martinez.
So, all of them have deep political connects - and that's why the PUP Regional Leader for the south Rodwell Ferguson told us he's staying out of it:
Rodwell Ferguson, Area Representative, Stann Creek West
"I decided not to participate in the present convention because at the end of the day I will have to go up with the candidate who wins, so I made a commitment that the only time I'm going to Toledo is when the counting begins so no soy can accuse me that I came to support any individual out of the three."

Jules Vasquez
"So you are staying out of it Completely."
"But they have Oscar Requenas brother, they have the CEO who you worked with in the municipal elections and obviously you have Mike's son. Is it a tricky situation from a political perspective?"
Rodwell Ferguson, Area Representative, Stann Creek West
"That's why I said It's so tricky I am the deputy leader for the south so I'm next to Punta Gorda and Toledo District so I said I will not interfere I don't go there I don't make any calls on any day I'm going to work with whoever wins."
We'll post the winner of Sunday's convention as soon as it is known on Sunday night.
