Tonight the takeover of the UDP HQ is complete as the faction led by Tracy Panton has successfully occupied both the secretariat downstairs and the conference hall and leader's office upstairs.
As you saw yesterday, the supporters of the Alliance for Democracy sawed off the locks of the gate that blocks the staircase. However, before they could get upstairs, the police came and prevented them from gaining access.
Well, the Police Quick Response Team couldn't stay there indefinitely and when the police presence was reduced - Panton's team gained access to the stairs and the offices on the upper floor where they changed the locks. So, Shyne Barrow and his team are not welcome - they have been - in the parlance of Boots Martinez - kicked "O-W-T."
A release from Panton's team says "having acted on the authority of the Trustee, we are now exercising the full management and control of the entire premises of the UDP Headquarters….We are also happy to announce that we are also exercising full management and control of our Party organs, the Guardian Newspaper and Wave Radio."
