But how can anyone take any pledge to crack down on road safety violations from a Government which has been consistently unable to even produce that most basic legal requirement: license plates and stickers.
Today, that fundamental failure was raised by Albert's Tracy Panton - and the Prime Minister had to concede guilt:
Tracy Panton, UDP Area Rep. Albert
"You can't get a license plate. You can't get a license sticker. In some cases, they're not the IDs available to print licenses. You're operating on a receipt, Madam Speaker. And I'm not saying that this is a recent occurrence."
"For the last two years, my daughter has had a receipt because she cannot get a license plate."
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"On the issue of the traffic license and the tickets, it's something that they've been plaguing the ministry for some time."

"Yes, it is embarrassing because it's something that should have supposed to be easy to address. But for some reason, they couldn't get it done. But I had a meeting with the minister and the acting CEO, Shal, I think about two or three weeks ago. And they pointed out that that has been addressed. They got a large order, but because it was such a backlog, that quickly ran out. So another large order is already supposed to be already be in place to be able to catch up with all that was needed."
"So guilty on that one, that should have been addressed a long time. But I think we have address it by now."
