And though the farmers may seem to have their hands full in the fields, Ortega says that they haven't forgotten about the Commission of Inquiry report which should have been given to them since last November. With this term of office winding down, Ortega says the ball is in the PM's court and at this point it's up to him to decide when the report will be accessible to them.

Alfredo Ortega, BSCFA Committee of Management

"Well in regards to that ourselves haven't gotten the report as yet because as you know one of the regulations that was put or the how the protocol would have gone is that the commission group would have sent the information to the prime minister and then the prime minister would have released. As we speak right now that information has not yet been released, we have not seen the report we don't know what the report contains in its entirety we only got a part of it to see what it entails just a summary in regards to that we have not gotten anything as yet but we are hoping the prime minister will release the information so that we can see what it contains because as you rightly know we have been working and everything has been silent at this point in time because we are waiting that information so we can start our new negotiation with BSI. And also the government said that they will be using the information of the commission of inquiry to make a new and a better act for the sugar industry. So we are awaiting on that and we hope that the prime minister releases that information as early as possible so that we can start because as you know the signature we have with BSI we have in our extended agreement comes to an end on November so we want to start our negotiation with them so that whenever November comes we should be clear into that position so we are awaiting that from he prime minister so we can have full knowledge on what that document entails."

Jo-
"Are you hopeful you will see the report before elections?"

Alfredo Ortega, BSCFA Committee of Management
"Well we are waiting that and we are hoping it happens because it's in the hands of the prime minister so as producers and growers and as an association we are waiting for that because I think it should be out no matter the election because I think it entails thing that will benefit the industry, there is nothing that should be taking it or holding it back."
