And while the UDP is still settling scores, the PUP is claiming village council victories with no contest.
When we asked the prime minister about it today he told us that he dislikes how politicized it has become.

"That's one of the things that I really dislike about this whole system where we have politicised this whole village council elections and unfortunately while all parties have to take some kind of responsibility for it, it happened mostly under the last 13 years of the previous government, when you know they were constantly boasting that they were winning so much, you know putting candidates. I have won village councils and I did not put a team until 3 years ago for the very first time. I used to allow it, but we should not have to do that and I wish we could find a place where we could remove the politics out of village councils."
