Immediately after the March general election Tracy Panton's supporters thought it would be easy for the Leader of the Opposition, to slide over into the leader's chair of the UDP.
Well, it's been anything but and almost 8 months later, Panton has now officially submitted her application for party leader for the November 30th convention. Along with the application, she also submitted letters of endorsement from party members. With the support of the majority of the elected representatives and caretakers, it is expected that Panton will run uncontested - but with the UDP, any number can play.
If she emerges from the convention as leader, she would be the UDP's first female party leader.
