PG Gets Online with BEL

It was the last to get on line but Punta Gorda is finally unto the national power grid which should mean a more reliable power supply for that most Southern town. Under the power 4 project a 69 kilovolt transmission line now connects the Independence and Punta Gorda load centers to a control system based in Belize City. This connection now has the entire country with the exception of Caye Caulker linked to the national grid. BEL is now in the process of decommissioning the existing diesel generators in Punta Gorda.
