On Saturday night a single winner hit the biggest lotto jackpot ever: $182,500. So who is the lucky winner? He is 32-year-old Isaias Majil from Corozal town. The father of two, who works as the marine protected areas coordinator at the Fisheries Department, went to the Lotto Office on Queen's Street this afternoon to collect his big check. Majil told us he was in stunned disbelief yesterday when he realized one of the two quick picks he bought was the winning ticket.

"It is amazing. I feel a little bit weird but it is amazing and I feel good. It is something I didn't expect. It just happened and it is kind of hard to believe until you see it."

How did you learn you had won?
Isaias Majil,
"Last night. My wife went to a store and she asked for the numbers that played on Saturday and she told me that we need to check our numbers because she kind of remembered that the 03 and the 07 were on our ticket. So when verified the numbers, we found out that all of them were right and I still didn't believe it. I thought it was a joke being played on me...and so she called another friend, who usually gets a text, and she gave us the same numbers. So now it was too much coincidence and then I realize that it may be true. This morning I passed by one of the places in Corozal that sell the Lotto and I checked the sigh that they had outside and they actually had the numbers and that is when I finally said it is true."

What are you going to do with all of this money?
Isaias Majil,
"Well first of all pay the bills like all of us have and the rest I will plan for my kids. I have a little boy and a girl and they are very young so they'll have a future."

Isaias Majil,
"It was a quick pick. I usually buy two quick picks on the game day and these are what came out."

Are you a regular Lotto player?
Isaias Majil,
"Not really. I have been buying it since it passed the $100,000 mark about two months ago. You buy expecting that somebody yon might get four, I didn't think I would get five but it happened."
Government took 15$ off the top and Magil took home $155,125. The winning numbers are 3, 7, 20, 22, 25. For Wednesday, the Lotto jackpot has rolled back from the princely $182,000 to a paltry $50,000.
