Traffic was disrupted on Albert Street near Channel 7’s studio for the past two days as BWSL was doing what we’ll call “open street surgery.” Workers dug a massive trench and did pipe works in the area, and when they’re through here, it is supposed to continue up to Albert Street West and then unto Regent Street. And while this surgery on the city’s main veins may test your patience, it’s all for the better as these works are being done in advance of the complete re-paving of both streets.

The reasoning is that when the streets are re-paved, the City Council doesn’t want the utilities having to break it open at will. Soon all those utilities have been asked to do their works now, and prepare common access points that will be used in the future.
