It’s called an affordability campaign and First Caribbean International Bank is providing financing to customers no money down. Sounds like what courts would do, not a major commercial bank, but trust us it’s not a suspicious transaction we’re reporting on. The story is about a loan fair tomorrow morning at the City Center where the bank will have new vehicle dealers and property and real estate vendors – offering barrowers 100% financing for those long term investments. They stopped by our studio to tell us how this is banking for changing times.

“What seems to be, if I could use the word inhibitor is down payment or a stake. We find that most clients have a little difficulty coming up with that. We at First Caribbean have now come up with this campaign where we are saying we will find a solution for that, we’ll finance the land 100%, we’ll finance the car

100%.”
Rosanna Villanueva, FCIB
“We’ve partnered with real estate developers and auto dealers so they will also be out there showcasing what they have to offer so the customer can come in to the fair, have a look around at what is out there and maybe they find something that they like. We will be out there, our finance staff will be out there available all day. You can come, sit down with us and we can give you the details of how the process works, workout figures for you, give you an idea of what you can comfortably afford. Some people don’t know what they can afford so it is a good opportunity to come out there and see what the partners are offering.”
Pauline Rodriguez Romero, CP Buildings
“You’re looking at a package starting for a house and land around $62,000 and up. You can’t beat that, we’re talking about concrete homes that are affordable. You can get your home as a fully customized home with tiles, burglar bars, full kitchen cabinets, utility room or you can choose if you cannot afford that at this time to go with what we call a start a home concept.”
Froyland Alvarado,
“What CP Buildings and we are doing are basically creating model homes that will be the size that can be purchased by Belizeans, that means the size of house is going to be based on square footage, it’s going to be the most affordable in terms of Belizeans being able to acquire this house at unbeatable prices.”
The fair runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
