We revealed the big butane scam in February and a new law was signed into effect in March - but for most consumers, nothing has changed: the vast majority of butane dealers and importers operate just as they did before - in open defiance of the law. So consumers continue to get the shaft as the majority of the depots and the delivery trucks do not have scales. The folks at the Radisson know the routine all too well. As the second largest hotel in the country - they use major volumes of butane monthly. And when the scandal of the ongoing scam broke, manager Jim Scott began to review his records. According to reports that we've hear don morning talk shows, the total losses of just a three year period added up to 154,000 thousand dollars.
Since the reports first went out over the air three weeks ago, Scott has steadfastly refused comment, but when we caught him at the Radisson today leaving his office - he gave cagey confirmation that yes, his hotel had been shorted a significant volume of butane equivalent to some major figures:…
Jules Vasquez
"We've heard from inform sources that your hotel have a significant discrepancy with one of the local butane companies. Can you confirm this?"
Jim Scott, Manager - Radisson

"Yes but I really can't say anything right now though. We are trying to work it out."
Jules Vasquez
"Are you able to say if it's a $154,000.00 as has been reported on the radio?"
Jim Scott, Manager - Radisson
"There have been a lot of numbers thrown around. There are significant numbers, obviously significant for us to follow through and everybody's working together to try to figure out what the discrepancy at this time."
Jules Vasquez
"Six figures?"
Jim Scott, Manager - Radisson
"Big figures."
According to reports, Scott has been in negotiation with the butane company he had done and continues to do business with to try and settle the figure which he called significant, but no meaningful progress towards resolution has been made…..
