Tourism figures for overnight arrivals are up again this year. According to figures released by the Belize Tourism Board today, the first five months of 2011 show an increase of 7.4% in overnight arrivals.
Arrivals in March were truly outstanding; they exceeded 32,000 visitors for the first time on record. And while that is impressive, the figures for cruise ship arrivals are not anywhere near that. Arrivals increased in January and February but decreased sharply in March, and to a lesser extent in April and May.
The overall figures for cruise arrivals in 2012 show a decrease of 0.2%.
