A month ago, we told you how the price of LPG or "butane", was going up for the month of December. Well, as of midnight tonight, there will be another price increase.

The retail price in urban areas of the country is moving from 103 dollars for a 100-pound gas tank, to 108 dollars. In rural areas, the retail price is going up from $105 dollars for a 100-pound gas tank, to $111.

Explaining this price change, the Bureau of Standards said, quote, "The monthly increase seen in January is due to fluctuations in acquisition prices namely for butane. Propane prices on the other hand have remained steady." End quote.
