Finally, tonight the Port of Belize has a new C.E.O. he is Andrew Lane, a man with 25 years of experience; 20 in ship operations and 6 years in port terminals. This new C.E.O. comes on board to fill the shoes left by the Port's last C.E.O. Pablo Salinas, the man who watched the chaos unfold at the Port and then managed the signing of a long-delayed CBA.
Lane has served Ports in Malaysia, Nigeria, Panama, and Sri Lanka. His area of expertise includes Ship Operations and Network Optimization, Container terminal management, Safety, Productivity & Labor Relations, all combinations which a release from the Port of Belize tonight calls quote: "rich and unique."
Lane takes the reins at a difficult time for the Port and indeed the entire economy, as such it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to make a valuable contribution to the Port's post-pandemic growth.
