Switching subjects now, the US Embassy along with the Love and Kolbe Foundations is pushing on with its ECTET programme. ECTET is short for "Empowering Communities to Empower Themselves" - and the program has so far created 4 community hubs - which are small enterprises funded by the U.S. Embassy's Office of Public Affairs and implemented by Love and Kolbe.

But, it's not business for the sake of money making - it's actually peace making, where rival gangs - who are through with that life - and are actually neighbours, can bury their differences, and come together for a productive purpose in their own communities.

Today, it was about former gang members who had attended a three-day mediation retreat with the Kolbe Foundation and registered a new business in downtown Belize City called "Prolific Minds and Hearts,"

It's a car wash - which also offers filtered water and it's right on Albert Street - close to their neighbourhoods of Rocky Road and Jump Street. We found out more at the ribbon cutting today:

Musa said Government has come up with counterpart funding for 12 community hubs.
