And from COP to COVID, there are four deaths that happened over the weekend. Two of them were unvaccinated, one partially vaxxed, and the last fully vaxxed. Two of the deaths were females and two were males. Two were from Stann Creek, one was from Cayo, and one from Corozal.
There are currently 31 hospitalizations, and 18 of them are unvaxxed. Of the 15 ICU admissions, 7 are unvaxxed and five are fully vaxxed.
There were 351 newly reported cases and the majority of them - 82 - were found in the Belize District. 65 were from Cayo and 58 from Stann Creek. There are 2,400 active cases and 514 new recoveries. The total number of deaths is 495.
One COVID case with some encouraging news is Dr Cecilio Eck. The Paediatrician was taken off the ventilator yesterday and we are told he is now on a high flow oxygen machine. This is seen as extremely encouraging for the doctor - whose prognosis was viewed as very grim last week. Physicans are now hoping he can make a full recovery and be out of the hospital in a week - if he continues to show improvement.
